| In the beginning of summer 6/9/07 i was 235 pounds, until now today 7/8/07 i am 218, i am a very athletic guy i play basketball at parks with my friends 4 times a week, and afterwards i go jogging. I have family friends that tell me im in greatshape being able to run a 7:24 mile at this weight, but i have a feeling that my diet is not to healthy for a while now everyday i skip breakfast =( and i dont eat lunch till 3:15 pm cuz of high school, and all i eat then is like a yogurt, fruit and some article of protein. (making sure i dont exceed 2000daily calorie count), then at dinner around 7 i eat some sort of protein again and have something green =) and then afterwards my desert is usually a fruit but everyday my mom is like are you full? and usually that just makes me wonder cuz i have no feeling usually not of satisfaction or of hunger. Ever since i started MY own training i havent had a real appetite, then my friend that is in amazing shape told me that its because im not having a well balanced nutritental diet. Soooo PLZ HELP =) any feedback will be great THANKS!! =) |

I'm a doctor. Here's what works for my male patients |
|
|
I'm a medical doctor (a Christian) and I give my patients the same advice that helped me to lose 75 pounds and keep it off for 25 years: eat according to your hunger (not boredom or because you see or smell food.) I know, it sounds simple, but you guys in particular drop weight FAST by simply doing that. Women, as you know, are much more complicated. We tend to eat because of emotions and have a harder time than you guys do.
If you're interested, look at my book called The Eden Diet, which I wrote two years ago, primarily for the benefit of my patients. I haven't listed it on Amazon.com yet, but I will as soon as I get around to it. For now, it's on sale at my website. It's all about eating food you love and enjoy, but in small portions and only when you're actually hungry. And it's about how to NOT eat because of "external" cues like emotions, boredom, etc. Everybody's different, and you should check with your doctor for what is right for you. But, if you're interested, check out my website http://www.TheEdenDiet.com. It's still under construction, but you can view parts of it. |

| Great motivation, which for me is the key! To go for a run after playing basketball means you're serious. Keep it up. |

This is terrible advice in my opinion.
We are omnivores for a reason. Have you ever looked at a pure vegan? Note I didn't say vegetarion. Vegans almost always look unhealthy. they are those skinny fat people -- you know, where they are skinny but they have no definition in their body.
And don't listen to the people who say to 'stay away from oily foods.' What does that even mean? Reading the first 3 replies, it sounds like the same person posting under different accounts, because I can't imagine 3 people saying the same crazy stuff.
They are crazy. Good fat is essential for proper health. Salmon is oily and is good for you. Olive oil is definitely oily and is good for you. Pecans are oily and are good for you, as are most nuts and seeds.
What you need is a balanced diet with the right fats, clean carbohydrates, and lean protein.
I can tell you that you can do this without ANY supplements, if you just watch what you eat and you work out. Now before you go screaming at me saying, "But Carrina, you are using Hoodia on your diet, as you say in your blog!" Realize one thing -- I am only using Hoodia Gordonii because it helps crave my appetite so I dont binge on junk food.
Think of it this way... the hoodia I take helps me like ski poles help a skiir. They dont need them to ski down the mountain, but it sure makes it a lot easier!

Loose weight the healthy way |

Loose Weight
&
Keep it off the Healthy Way.
Can you loose weight permanently? Absolutely!!!
Can you do it without risking your health? Absolutely!!!
Can you accomplish this great goal with a personal coach,
(Free of Charge) to help guide and support? Absolutely!!!
Loosing weight the healthy way has many variables according to how your body reacts to input. Here is one example, the starvation mode:
Every body needs specific nutrients in order to operate and function efficiently as it is designed to do. When these nutrients are not supplied in the quantities needed, the body will kick into a self preservation mode of storing resources in the form fat. In essence a person can overeat while at the same time starving their body. This condition in turn puts pressure on vital internal organs as they battle for the limited supply of nutrients, thus causing a variety of seemingly unrelated health issues. In addition the added weight adds an even heavier burden on the already over worked and under fed organs causing the bad health snow ball to increase in size.
Most weight loss plans and schemes focus solely on loosing weight which makes the condition more times than not worse. Not only is the body starved of needed nutrients, it is now robed of fat stores. After the weight is lost and the plan is put on the shelf because we have had enough food deprivation, the weight comes back with a vengeance which most people who struggle with weight issues have experienced as their hopes for a slimmer look are dashed.
Why not loose weight while achieving proper nutrition at the same time? Not only do you want to look good but you also want to feel good with more energy and vitality all at the same time.
There is help and hope.
