Another Dr B email |

| Did anyone receive a second one that says exactly the same thing as the first one? I just got one about 10 minutes ago. I was hoping it would say that he found a loophole or something. |

Did not get the second one- but does mean that I won't... I did send an email via reply to the first email requesting information as to not whether any prescriptions for the Prozac would be available. Also asked whether the DEA was concerned for his patients that are taking Prozac... the FDA states on their website that you should never attempt to abrubtly quit taking Prozac. That your doctor should assist you with weaning of Prozac stopping abrubtly can have severe emotional effects.
Have not received a response... although I have heard that other people have received an email response so may not hurt to try. |

I was wondering the same thing about the pro.
Fortunately, I still have a couple month's worth left. I was apprehensive about starting with the prozac. I really didn't know what kind of effect it would have on me and held off until I felt the phen needed a boost. I've been taking it daily for a little over two months and really notice a change in my attitude and temperament.
I don't want to go through any kind of funky withdrawals....
Anybody else concerned about stopping the pro abruptly? |

I'm not a doctor by any means so take or leave my words, but I've read quite a lot about SSRIs and their effects. If you're only taking the 10 mg dose Dr. B prescribed, I can't imagine you'd have many (if ANY) withdrawal symptoms. That's such a low dose - which was the whole point. It was just enough to counteract the "wearing off" effect of Phentermine alone - it wasn't meant to treat any underlying problem.
Anti-anxiety meds like Paxil are MUCH harder to step down from.
Some advice, if you have any prozac left and are truly worried about stopping it abruptly, only take half a tab for a few days, then take half a tab every other day until you're done. But really, I think most people who were only taking the 10 mg will be just fine if they stop IMO. |

Thanks, Sugar!
I did some checking myself a few minutes ago. I got pretty much the same info you did -- that SSRIs like Paxil and Zoloft are trickier to get off of.
I just hate the thought of having to go through the whole process of establishing myself with a new doc, clinic, etc. when Dr. B. was really working for me... |

I would not say it would be a withdrawal so to speak, but it does mess with your body chemicals. I have been on several antidepressants in my life- I tend to use up my good body chemicals with anxiety and when stressed. I have to say that Prozac has really worked the best for me... I did have to go without for 6 or so days when Dr B was behind and it really screwed with my body chemicals. So it seems to me that it really depends on your body chemicals and what works for you. I am fairly sure that the company that produces Prozac did not create the 10mg to only work with the Phen and not provide results for any other problem.
The ones I have are capsules so breaking in 1/2 is not an option. I did request and receive an IM from another board member with another place that would assist me with keeping my prescription for Prozac (thank you). However, I did find reliable assistance within the US, so that I could keep my prescription for Prozac (ONLY PROZAC). If you are someone that might need Prozac for emotional/chemical reasons instead of just for working with the PhenPro program, PM me. |

Nope, I certainly wasn't saying prozac was only created in 10mg doses so it could be combined with phentermine; however, a 10mg dose is not normally what someone would take on a daily basis to combat depression, anxiety, ocd, etc. It's usually a starter dose and then the doctor ups the mgs after a week or so until a therapeutic dosage is found that works with as few side effects as possible.
If you've only got 10mg caps, then take one every other day at first. After that, take one every 2 days, until done.
Something to keep in mind, taking SSRIs alone has been shown to cause weight gain. |

She got sick to her stomach puked and everything her ears began to ring and skin broke out she was a mess when her dr took her off it. |

| I just wanted to say to the person who asked if Dr B would still be filling the pro.... He had his license to prescribe medication taken away, therefore he cannot fill out or call in ANY prescriptions. If you want to keep taking it, I would suggest you go to your regular MD, it is easy to get and insurance will cover it. |
