I like the idea. I would add motivation also. If you would have to do an importance list, how would it be?

Ok topic of the day is Shocked WATER Shocked

1: 8 Cups of ice cold water a day burns about 6 pounds a year through your body heating th water

2: Your metabolism slows down when you are dehydrated

3: Your body gives the same signals for thirst and hunger

4: Water makes you feel full

5: Your livers main function is to metabolize fat, but they also help the kidneys. When you are dehydrated the liver does not concentrate on fat burning because it needs to help the kidneys.

6: When dehydrated your body holds on to water the same way it will hold on to fat when starving.

7: Water eliminates toxins from your body. Your body will dilute toxins it can not release with fat.

8: Water gives you more energy. (I notice a huge difference at the gym when I am properly hydrated)

Most people do not get enough water in thier diet, the recomendation is 1oz of water for 2 pounds of body weight. When starting rehydration the body will start to eliminate the water it has been storing. This means you will have to go to the bathroom alot at first, but as your body gets rid of excess water this will decrese. Try to get most of your water beforeabout 4 hours before bed (we all know why this is)

Please note I have no formal education what I post on this site is based mainly on what I have found through internet searches. Please do your own research and consult your doctor before changing your lifestyle.

Building Slow Twitch Muscle

Ok so I know most of you don't have a clue what I'm talking about. Please bear with me on this subject as there is very little information on this subject but apart for water seems to be one of best weight loss secrets. If you know more about this subject please feel free to corect me or add to this post.

You have 2 main types of muscle in your body fast twitch and slow twitch, these can both be broken down further but the only other relevent division is regular fast twitch and super fast twitch. When weight training 1-3 reps to fatigue is super fast twitch, 4-12 reps to fatigue is fast twitch, and 13+ reps is slow twitch. If you are looking to build strength you want to build your super fast twitch muscle, for building muscle you want to build your fast twitch muscle, and for endurance you want to build your slow twich muscle.

When trying to lose weight you always hear that you want to build muscle so the natural assumption is that you want to build your fast twitch muscle, This is not true your fast twitch muscle relies on carbs for its metabolism. You want to concentrate on your slow twitch muscle who's primary fuel is fat. From what I have read 50-100+ reps is best for building slow twitch muscle. It has also been shown that when doing cardio if you use a lower resistance with a higher speed you are using more slow twitch muscle than if you use a higher resitance and slower speed.

Note: If you are anything like me and want to decrease your muscle size this is the training that you want to do, but it takes a long time to shink muscle.

AVOID LIQUID CALORIES

Did you know 3 cans of pop a day equals about 48 pounds a year Shocked and alcohol is even worse. Next time you reach for your coffee with cream and sugar think about how many calories you are getting. Besides the calories in these drinks how much less water are you drinking because you are drinking them Question

A quick note about drinking water, if you are severly dehydrated drinking too much water can make you sick. To avoid this increase your water intake slowly.

Calorie cycling

One of the main formulas for weight loss is calories in-calories out gives us either a weight gain or loss. So naturally if we dont eat we will lose weight right? Yes and no we will lose weight but not fat. The more we eat the higher our metabolism is, so how do we cut calories while keeping our metabolism high? We use calorie cycling. If your body never gets the same amount of calories it can't adjust to a norm. The way to do this is to eat low calorie for 3 days than have a high calorie day. I recomend not going overboard on your high calorie day but if you are going to do it anyhow this is the day to do it. Very Happy
