Any Experiences? |
|
|
I have been on reductil for seven days - the first five days I had absolutely no appetite and ate very little all day. the past two days I have been hungry and have eaten three meals a day. I am just wondering what peoples experiences are since I feel like its starting not to work and I haven't lost any weight yet.
Other than that, I have not had any side effects except a little insomnia.
btw, it is very hard to find anything on the internet related to people's experiences with Reductil. |

Hi Tima,
Welcome to Weight Loss Forums!
You are right there is little information about Reductil on the net. I know about Reductil only that it acts by inhibiting the reuptake of two major neurotransmitters in the brain. One is serotonin and one is noradrenaline.
Also Reductil should be a prescription drug. Its not so popular in US but Ive heard that is used more in UK.
I hope that WLF members or visitors will help you with more info on Reductil.
I wish you good luck. |

Hey Thanks.
Btw, where I am, you can go to any pharmacy and buy Reductil by just asking for it - that is actually what I have done - I was taking it through a doctor before I got pregnant with my daughter. Now that I completed breastfeeding her for two years I decided to go back on it. But now like I said you can get it without a prescription.

Tima,
Here is What Ive learned about Reductil. I am guessing that you are from outside US, probally Europe beouse Reductil is the name used in Europe. The drug is known as Meridia(R) in North America.
Reductil/Meridia is classified as a schedule IV drug, have been aprooved and had good reasults in over 6000 clinical tryals.
Meridia does not work as Trim Spa or Lipovarin, meridia acts on the nervous sistem. Trim Spa and Lipovarin are acting by hitting the organism with a big dose of caffeine extract.
Ill try to get more info about Reductil/ Meridia. Ill keep you posted. |

Thanks...i think maybe there are spurts with this stuff - cuz sometimes I am not hungry at all and sometimes I am hungry but I never eat as much as i used to eat...
Its soo cool cuz I feel like I am in control. I used to have to finish the whole package of powdered donuts and now I can pick up just one and stop.
I AM IN CONTROL. |

Just lovin' reductil (meridia) |
|
|
| Hi there! My GP just prescribed Reductil for weight loss on Mon 10th January. I have lost 8lbs in 5 days, which I'm worried may be too much too fast. I do have a lot to lose though, need to shift about 6 stone. I am 44 years old and they do say it's harder to lose, the older you get. Only dry mouth now, but on first day felt quite spaced out and had tingling lips! Finding that I have no interest in snacking now as my meals are satisfying enough. Have not exercised, but have cut out bread, biscuits, rice and potatoes. Love to hear from anyone on reductil...... |

Hey busymiss....I am also on Reductil and have been for almost two weeks, btw what is a stone????
I have a total of 30 pounds to lose and i am 31 years old - I have lost 3 kilos which is around 7 pounds or so in less than two weeks. It has really curbed my appetite and I also have been staying away from bread, pasta, rice, and anything that is a processed carb. Aside from all that, I really do not have an appetite - so I seem to be just snacking on little things during the day.
Carolina: I have seen lots of online pharmacies that sell it online - you can buy the 10mg and try it out or go straight to the 15mg - I have heard alot of people say that 10 mg is not effective and once they switch over to the 15 mg it seems like they are fine.
Anyways, I found a yahoo group on reductil but it seems it is no longer active but I did spend a long time reading the old messages which are very informative. You might check it out! [/b] |

there are 14 ponds in a stone! |
|
|
Hi Tima
I'm from the UK where a stone is 14lbs, so I have approx 84 lbs to lose! I've dieted in the past and lost weight on the Atkins diet, but put it all back on plus 30 lbs as soon as I stopped Atkins. Forgot to mention that I am also suffering from insomnia, but even though I'm not sleeping well I don't feel as tired as usual! I don't pay for the medicine as my doctor prescribed it on our National Health Service, but I'm so pleased with it so far, I would definitely pay for it if I had to! I'm guessing that this initial weight loss is mostly water, so hoping that I still can lose a few pounds each week. Let me know how your weight loss is going, as it's good to hear other positive stories. |

update on my progress with reductil |
|
|
| Well, it's day 9 on reductil + low carb diet. I have only lost 1 pound since day 6 and so that is a total of 9 pounds in 9 days. The loss was rapid in the first five days, but now it has slowed right down. The sleeping problem I had has now gone and I no longer have that "spaced-out" feeling that I was experiencing. I still do not have any food cravings, which is all good! I eat three sensible, low carb meals and honestly don't fancy snacking any more. So unlike me!!! .......as the weight loss has slowed down and I am not getting any side effects now except dry mouth, I suppose I ought to start exercising. Will let you all know what difference that makes..... |

Total of 9 pounds in 9 days???
4 kilograms in 9 days. This is a lot. This meand that Meridia really works. Is Meridia based on the caffeine just like Trim Spa? |
